Functional Bitumen PG 58-16

PG 58-16 is a type of Performance Grade (PG) bitumen, classified based on its performance at high and low ambient temperatures. This type of bitumen is commonly used in countries that apply the PG system, such as the United States, Canada, and some international projects, for asphalt design.

Applications of PG 58-16 Bitumen

This bitumen is suitable for road construction and asphalt paving of streets and highways in regions with moderate climates (moderate summers and not extremely cold winters). It is also used for roads with light to medium traffic and international projects designed according to AASHTO standards. PG 58-16 can be applied in small airport pavements, parking lots, and industrial areas. This grade provides a balanced performance between high-temperature resistance and low-temperature flexibility. If the road surface temperature exceeds 58°C in summer or the air temperature drops below –16°C in winter, a different PG grade should be used.
